Oil & Filter Change
Frequent oil and filter changes are a must to extend the life of your engine. Not doing so can cause premature wear and damage to essential parts in the rotating assembly. Contaminated oil contains acids that break down parts used in the assembly of your engine. Depending on your boating frequency, changing your oil every other season will help ensure a long life for your engine. Outdrive oil follows the same principle of changing frequency.
Impeller Change
As important as it is to change engine and drive oil, the water pump impeller is the most common maintenance item. Not changing the impeller frequently could lead to costly repairs caused by an overheated engine. I recommed changing the impeller every other season depending on the frequency of use. Running in shallows and sand will also cause premature wear to the impeller and housing.
Wheel Bearings
One of the most neglected service items are the wheel bearings on your trailer. Simply checking the seals and bearings could save some headaches on the road. When bearings fail they cause more damage than just to themselves. Changing the wheel bearings is realitively cheap and easy to do. Stop in for a quick once over to make sure your trailer is safe for the road.
